Between March and August 2008, Garanti Bank's exclusive &club offered a promotion to it's members; each month a couple would be flown to one of the six European destinations for a stay in an associated boutique hotel. With promotion already in place, we were approached to create a 30-second ad for the campaign.
Since &club already had a well-established corporate identity, strictly enforced on all the advertisements, we followed the color scheme and patterns provided to us. The biggest challenge in this project laid in presenting easily-recognizable imagery portraying six different cities in the span of under 20 seconds (ad length minus intro and end tag). We settled on very limited library of images, offering a maximum of three visuals per city.
Rather than going with (typical in motion graphics) continuous camera movement, we split the ad into scenes with cuts in between, gaining valuable video frames otherwise spent on transitions.
