On Sunday, July 17, 2007, the entire congregation of Jackson First General Baptist Church gathered outdoors to pray for our church families, our church growth and our community. Notice our backs were to the church building itself, as we desire to become more outwardly-focused. Three people took turns at a mic to lead in the three specific areas of prayer. Strategically placed cars surrounded the people with their car radios tuned to the station that the prayers were being broadcast to so everyone could hear. A member of the church asked his pilot friend to fly his light-weight plane over the event to take pictures. They turned out great! It was a blistering hot summer day, but refreshments were served indoors afterward with plenty of time for fellowship.
