This drumming video is part of my Roland TD-30 V-Drums Songs and Patterns Video Series. The Roland TD-30 Patterns are midi files sequences using the general midi sound bank in the TD-30. They are backing tracks patterns of varying lengths, from 2 to 24 bars and represent all sorts of different musical styles. The longer ones are arranged more like short songs with changes, while the short ones are more like comps. Using the loop function these comps can be used to play time or solos over. I have chosen the ones more relevant to my approach to play solos, grooves and try out ideas with, as such the focus is more about what I am doing with the drums, as opposed to playing for the music as I would do in a song context as demonstrated in my song demos. Therefore I will play time and solos over these comps and they are more likely to be of interest to other drummers, or fans of drums. This comp is in 7/4 and more fusion orientated.
