Two worlds, miles apart, are alike in their grimness and hostility. Water acts as a portal between the alien and vampire world.
FX once again asked us to elaborate a pitch for the upcoming season of American Horror Story, which would feature two distinct storylines, one centered around vampire-like creatures, and the other set in an alien-populated wasteland. These two creatures, although visually opposed, share the same otherworldly eeriness and combine to create freakish and chilling imagery.
Our pitch concept used water as a visual element in which one world could transition to the other. As the waves move, they hide and reveal different facial features of both supernatural beings. This results in a composite image of a single frightening entity, one that evolves and shifts as the water swells and recedes. All pitch ideas we combined in frantic edit.
