This video is from a low-tech, work-in-progress showing of the choreography of "loopdiver" presented in Berlin in August 2009.
We began with a five-minute long "piece" that defines the base movement material for "loopdiver". Using a custom tool in Mark Coniglio's Isadora software, Coniglio and choreographer Dawn Stoppiello were able to create, impose, and view a rigorous loop structure on a video recording of the five-minute base. The tool was then used to render the final, 40-minute looped version which served as a "score" from which the final choreography was realized.
This except shows part of the resulting dance, as learned and interpreted from that rigorous 40-minute videotape.
