Ladies and Gentlemen...
Squiffle Will Die...
Although the title may just have to be Squiffle MIGHT Die unless we receive your support.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jeremy Moran and I am a filmmaker who specializes in hand-drawn animation for adults. Along with producer Quinlan Kyp-Johnson, I am currently in production on a film called, yes, Squiffle Will Die which is an absurdly surreal and grimly bizarre dark comedy about a young fellow named...yes, indeed...Squiffle. He's an anonymous drone of a man who goes about his business in a cold, sprawling metropolis. He has no hopes, no dreams, and no future plans beyond getting his dinner out of the microwave and going to work in a stuffy office behind a desk covered in buttons. He is so set in his ways that he has become defined by them; a walking zombie who doesn't even need an alarm to wake himself up every morning. One random night, he finds a message on his answering machine. A message from a crazed lunatic threatening to kill him. Who is this person? What did Squiffle do to deserve such a thing? And what about the Pizza Guy who abruptly shows up at the door? Did he even order a pizza?
SQUIFFLE WILL DIE represents animation for adults of a kind that is rarely made anymore. It is violent, grotesque, and as funny as it is bizarre. We want our vision to be seen by as wide an audience as possible, which means theatrical screenings, VOD, and digital downloads. This is why we need help from you and as many like-minded people as possible. Please donate and, if you could, please pass this site on to as many people as possible.
WHAT DO WE NEED?
Currently, we are in the process of recording our cast and beginning the animation process.
Your donation would be going to...
- DIGITAL STORAGE
- SOUND MIX
- PROMOTION AND DISTRIBUTION
The plan is to create this film as a series of shorts that would be released onto the web one at a time. When all the shorts are completed, the film will be edited together as a feature that will seek DVD/BLURAY distribution, theatrical screenings at festivals and select markets, VOD, and digital downloads. The goal is to be able for the film to be as accessible as possible reach as wide of an audience as possible.
Our rough deadline for the entire project to be complete is by December of 2014.
If you support this project...even just a little bit...we will be forever grateful to you and will love you until the end of time. Nay! BEYOND the end of time!
