There's a lot of discussion in the tech world about old media and new media, especially on how the two different from ecah other. In the online video world, specifically on YouTube, we're seeing a decline in television viewing among 12-17 year olds as well as the 18-29 year olds. However, there's a strong increase of online video viewing by the same demographic. Why?

Well, a lot of the answers to that question can be summed up in the different values the younger generation holds versus what the older generation holds. These values and content consumption patterns can be summarized in the difference between old media and new media.

In this video I compare and contrast old media with new media and talk about some of the implications it has for us who are online video marketers, including our video strategy, how we craft our videos, how we develop audiences, and more.
