This documentary is about the Community Action Information Center run by long-time community activist Rosa Gibson. This story is about the center, its mission and how the East Side is benefiting from all the hard work of those involved.
Buffalo's East Side was the topic of the BUFFALO YOUTH MEDIA INSTITUTE in 2008. A collaboration between Squeaky Wheel and Preservation Buffalo Niagara, the BUFFALO YOUTH MEDIA INSTITUTE is a youth media and community history initiative which gives up to 20 young people (age 13-18/8th-12th grade) from Buffalo, NY and surrounding areas the opportunity to learn about the history of their local community by making documentaries about Buffalo. The project starts in September and ends in June and has been funded by the John R. Oishei Foundation, the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation, the Baird Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
