In this comedy Gene, one of the lead characters, has inherited a large old building that he can't afford to renovate. Coming from a family of wealth and having studied mathematics and philosophy he has gathered a few friends around him that use the building to explore whatever needs exploring. They have set up a small but sophisticated science lab mostly used by Christof, a brilliant experimental physicist from Western Germany who has the surprising ability to build the most extraordinary machinery with very little technical means. His good friend Erik, who is an ex-GDR soldier that served in a special unit dealing with psychological warfare techniques, hangs out with him constantly, helping him with his experiments. James the expert in sound reception, analysis and generation is also part of the team and is fueled by an atmospheric mixture of cynical skepticism and NZ whiskey. He's had some unexplained experiences in his life that he tends to dismiss as 'bollocks'. The group is supported by their lovely but poorly paid secretary Natalie, who has to find creative ways to hold the group together, as well as extort money out of them.
The show is set slightly in the future.
Location is Wellington.
