These are some shots from our first test run of the 5D on a 2009 trip to Africa. We picked up the camera 2 days before jumping on the plane from Perth. Our main camera was a Panasonic HPX502. There are a few issues with the 5D as a production camera, but we were impressed with what it could achieve considering its size and cost. All shots have been conformed from 30 to 25fps and no colour correction/grading has been applied.
The purpose of the trip was to film a documentary not only to raise awareness about poverty and disease in that country, but also to show the positive effects of teaching people how to live more sustainably through the Food Security Projects being introduced by Global Concern. These shots where taken on the first part of our trip near Karonga, Lake Malawi in June 09.
