A glorious day in the Lakes! Setting out from Coniston we climbed on the Walna Scar road to Goats Water where we climbed up Easy Gully (Dodging tumbling boulders! 2:02) on to Dow Crag where we were lucky enough to see a Hawk jet ( 3:34 ) fly up the valley and right over us towards Scafell! From Dow crag we walked to the summit of the Old Man before going along to Swirl How via Little How and Great How crags. A short detour to see the Halifax Bomber memorial at Great Carrs before returning to Swirl How and descending on the Prison Band before climbing again to Wetherlam and the final descent into Coniston and a well deserved pint of Bluebird bitter at the pub!
