Mother Nature wants us folks in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to enjoy winter just a little longer, so when it snows, bring snowshoes.... over a foot of snow is pictured here in the Porcupine Mountains State Park portion of the video- having fallen on May2-3rd 2013.
Join me for a 5 minute quick edit touring western UP waterfalls during Spring runoff on the Sturgeon, Ontonagon and Presque Isle Rivers.
Waterfalls pictured include Canyon Falls, Bond Falls, Manido Falls, Manhebezo Falls and the Unnamed falls and the Presque Isle swing bridge in Porcupine Mountains State Park.
I could not get to the base of Bond Falls out of concern for safety, the river was running over the stairs down to the base of the falls.
Most memorable was the power of the Presque Isle River and the volume of water flowing in it, especially the last few scenes.
It is so nice to see banks full of water after hiking much of this empty riverbed last October, even with the trees drenched in snow and ice.
Hi rez photographs are available of all the scenes you see here.
Hi rez video is also available- video here is very low res.
