When I first met with Renee and Jonathan, it was clear that they didn't take themselves too seriously. But that often changes on a wedding day, especially in front of the camera. I always make it a priority to stay as inconspicuous as possible for this reason, but when I interviewed Jonathan in the morning it quickly became apparent he was anything but camera shy. Watching the two of them together from behind a lens was a joy. Throughout the day it was though we weren't there at all; they were completely natural together. As a videographer, you can't really ask for anything more from a couple on their wedding day. And it didn't hurt that Renee had such a big and beautiful smile.
The other thing I really appreciated was the speeches. They incorporated just the right amount of comedy and heart, allowing for a compelling narrative when editing the main feature video. In an information age where so many people consult Google when writing their wedding speech (and consequently end up with something quite generic), it was very refreshing to hear so many meaningful messages from family and friends.
