7219 started off as an idea of getting a miniature look at the ongoings of daily life in tropical Singapore. Armed with either my iPhone or a Panasonic LX3, I took to the tall buildings throughout the island and started location scouting in 2010.
Production kicked off in 2011 with Canon 5D Mark IIs, 7Ds and the full armada of Canon TSE lenses. The 5D Mark III soon joined the party and was a great addition. Touted the load in a Osprey 35 litre backpack and 2 tripods (sometimes with a Gorillapod), I pounded the streets to the amusement of many locals. No big crews, just myself early on before my partner, Charmaine Yap came and stuck with me through every shoot. 7219 is not perfected and never will as I witness scenes everyday that can be included in the film.
I have to thank Keith Loutit with whom I had the pleasure to meet in person (yes, it was akin to meeting a celebrity, without the airs) and his work has been a great source of inspiration to me and others in the timelapse community.
In a bid to support the local music industry, Amberhaze has kindly allowed us to use their music for the film so do check them out as well.
Last but not least, a big hug to my partner Charmaine, for pushing me on and being my eyes, my assistant, my "Little Bramper" operator.
Thank you all for watching. :)
