This video is about the Richmond Animal Protection Society's Cat Sanctuary, the largest cat refuge in North America. It is "Club Med" for abandoned, feral, or maltreated cats. Some of them are adopted out, many live the remainder of their lives here, cared for by over 150 volunteers. This is a "no-kill" sanctuary. It is only open to the public on Sunday afternoons, the rest of the time it is just the volunteers and employees caring for the cats. The facility depends on donations. They spend $300/day on wet food, for instance. Vet bills--there isn't a resident veterinarian, and even though they get special rates, they still have to pay for all vet services. End music by Noel Bush ("Beautiful Dreamers") by permission.
