Video note: Riders testing bikes without helmets. We have helmets. This is a no-no. Luckily they are all safe.
Last Thursday, May 1, GGLO kicked off our annual Bike to Work Month Challenge, enlisting four teams (37 riders) to compete in several categories. As of this Wednesday, GGLO riders made 84 trips, totaling 1,246 miles.
We’re proud of our bike-riding employee’s enthusiasm for this effort and we wanted to take it a step further, promoting ridership among our non-bike-owning staff. GGLO worked with Velo Bike Shop to select four “cruiser” style bicycles that would be durable, approachable and beautiful to encourage non-bike owning GGLOers to take the bikes on short trips for their errands and appointments around town. A big Thanks to Lloyd Tamura and his great crew at Velo who were extremely helpful in assisting us on the purchase of four bicycles, helmets and locks.
