This is a collection of nine four second shots taken from atop a sand dune at sunset outside the Western Queensland town of Windorah.
I have edited these grabs together to show part of the process of making a video postcard. If you break it down the basics of video we have VISUALS and NARRATIVE. At the moment, this collection of shots is probably half of what I'll use in the final version of the postcard. I'll also include vision driving out to the dune.
Each of these shots is like an animated photograph. The frame isn't moving, it's only capturing what's active within it.
I hope this gives you a good grasp on the kind of footage involved in making a video postcard. From here I need to edit in the rest of my vision and add a narrative.
