In 2013, one hotel's 'green resolution', backed by the local government and some of the city's biggest businesses - integrated resorts, led a city's hotel association and eventually more businesses to commit to observing Earth Hour, EVERY MONTH. Today the casino capital of the world, has over 20 world class and internationally branded hotels, resorts and casinos - some the largest of their brand and kind - committed, among a dozen other entertainment clubs and an increasing number of landmarks, shopping malls and offices. It also has thousands of staff working at the integrated resorts having pledged to also switch off their lights at home on the first Tuesday of every month.
It has inspired other cites - and other hotels clusters internationally to follow suit, creating an impact a dozen times that of the original 'Earth Hour', but also creating obvious, visible reminders on city skylines to continue to do all we can to slow climate change and protect our environments, our planet.
