A haven of peace in Miami, Vizcaya house and gardens were developed by James Deering of the Deering McCormick-International Harvester fortune, on Biscayne Bay in the present day Coconut Grove neighbourhood of Miami, Florida. Deering's fortune allowed him to recreate, in the early part of the 20th century, the art and architecture of Europe that he so loved. A hundred and eighty acres of peace and tranquillity in a bustling city.
