This idea came about through conversation with Mick Kilkelly, we chatted about the prestige of international placements to an artist and how it is dropped into conversation i.e. ” I have a couple of pieces in New York at the moment” …. ” Really…. do you? …thats great… well I have a couple of pieces in Berlin” we were also chatting about the role and the power of the curator in the management of art pieces and the placement of the pieces.
Out of this conversation came ‘a couple of pieces in Berlin’ and I was thrilled that Mick became the first curator of the project…suffering freezing cold tempratures and changing light conditions all in the name of Art.
Since then the project has really taken off with pieces in Porto, Malmo, Copenhagen… and upcoming projects in Paris and Los Angeles.
Without the participation of all the willing curators this work would still be in the realms of the dinner conversation … a good idea but no cigar .
Please check back regularly as this project grows…. also feel free to add to the conversation.
