COMP281 Final Project Pt. 1
It had been seven years since my last visit to my mother’s hometown in Mexico. In my short film titled Calle Hidalgo, I express my thoughts and feelings about the past and the present in a stream of consciousness manner, reconciling different aspects of my Mexican-American identity and using the past to question the future. I utilize pictures taken during my trip to Mexico in the summer and a few from the school year. Specifically, I use pictures from my mother’s hometown, Mazamitla, Jal., MX.; the city of Guadalajara, Jal., MX.; and the Berkshire Latino Festival in Lee, Massachusetts. I narrate my thoughts, relating the script to the pictures.
