A girl goes off the deep end during the championship volleyball match.
Dedicated to the Seton LaSalle girl's volleyball team 2005-2009. If anyone on my old team sees this, the numbers used on the jerseys are not meant to represent anyone in particular. I chose numbers that would be smoother to animate.

Our imaginations are both our greatest asset and our greatest enemy. With our imaginations, we can achieve our goals, invent new and innovative creations, and make it really seem that anything is possible. However, our imaginations also keep us from taking action, make us doubt our abilities, and cause us to feel that the world is against us. This was the realm in which I wanted to base my thesis.
Volleyball is a sport that has deeply impacted my life and who I am today. For almost eight years from middle school to high school I played volleyball. I wanted my film to represent the struggles I had to overcome while playing a team sport and what helped me overcome them. As we all know, our imaginations can construct far worse fantasies than reality ever could, and I wanted to implement these whacky, exaggerations into my animation. Once we start imagining things, whether they are good or bad, our imaginations will run away from us. Everyone fears failure and ridicule from their fellow peers and mentors whether they have played a sport or not, and everyone has something or someone that will support them, to give them a reason to keep going. For me, my family has always been my strongest support, and I wanted to reflect that.
Despite our failures and shortcomings, I do believe that there is always a silver lining in every cloud. It’s all a matter of whether we choose to believe that during the time.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone who helped and supported me on this project. Without you, this would not have been possible. Thank you for all of your hard work into making this film what it is.
