Francis Max Smith was a 1942 graduate of Scotts High School, in Scotts, Michigan, when he, like many other young men of that time, decided to enlist and fight in World War II. He joined the United States Navy. By the time Smith returned home from the Pacific Theater, his kid brother and his best friend had died in the war. Their bodies were never recovered. To honor their memories, Max Smith is endowing a scholarship through the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency Foundation. The scholarships will be given to students of Climax-Scotts High School. Each recipient of the scholarship will get a copy of this video.
