This scene is an adaptation I made for Theater from the 'Diary' Gog by Giovanni Pappini. The title of the scene is Professor Caccavone. As described by Pappini's Gog, Caccavone is a body that resembles spheres, a euphemism for fat, the Prof. knows a lot and constructs many profound and empty ideas. I decided to use the Commedia De'll Arte Mask of Il Dottore to impersonate this rich character. Everything in this scene is circular and grandiose. Caccavone is fat and can barely walk. His ideas are big as well as his belly. The students take the position around him on a lower level making him the Sun and center of attention. All the students are admiring him, writing down the words with terrible devotion and hoping to imitate their Grand Professor.
Cho H Cho premiered at Mabou Mines RAP 2011 in NYC. This clip is from that run, the first.
Later in 2012 I restaged this production at Flamboyán Theatre as part of the undergroundzero festival and changes were made.
