This is the third film for Kaspersky and the idea we originally pitched. The concept was to have Max inside his PC facing various malware threats from around the world. We wanted to use creatures from different mythologies to represent these threats and chose Asian and Russian creatures as our favourites. Cthulhu made his way onto the list when we happened across him and realized it made sense that he could find his way into this world through technology.
We started planting Lovecraftian imagery in the other films, to build up to his appearance. We're really happy with how his sequence worked with the music.
We hope you like the film. We had a lot of fun working out the animation.
Guy McKinley was our designer and Heather Fenoughty composed the music.
We also won this: mpa.org.uk/53-degrees-of-inspiration-and-mpa-awards/the-winners with it. Which is nice.
