An interactive Installation by Tomi Paasonen with live music by Kirill Lorech and lighting by Asier Solana.
In this research project produced by DOCK11, artists were commissioned to explore the neologism "Digital Folk Art". It is about definitions, comparisons and discoveries. What do contributions to this concept tell us about authorship vs the recipients? What competences and processes are devised through it? Will there be new revelations about the relationship between spectator and subject / object / performer? What is the influence on the artistic process? "Digital Folk Art" does not merely reference Youtube but includes music, fine arts, digital folk art galleries, literature, performing arts, dance, performance, site specific actions, caricature, satire, comics as a source for its investigation.
Inspired by the concept, Tomi Paasonen created a performance without performers, an interactive installation for the audience to complete, that translates the world wide web back into an analogue sculpture through this collective meditative action .
