Slow Suicide was inspired by an afternoon with loved ones at the Lonsdale Quay. It has nothing to do with suicide which is a question that we got asked a lot when we played live. Our running joke when introducing the song was something like this, "This next song is about my ex-girlfriend, it's called Slow Suicide." hahaha big laugh and we launched into it.
It's really about the joy of life and how happiness is like another world you get drawn into for short periods of your life and then you have to go back to reality, to your job, work, school and making a living. Somehow those brief interludes of bliss fuel the rest of your days by recharging your batteries and giving you the inner means to carry on. Those happy times say that life is worth it.
