This is the story of Rev. Diane Smalley of the Presbyterian Church in Detroit. Her personal encounter with the enormous burden of health care costs began when she was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and uninsured. Through the charity of the Wachtenaw Health Plan and the Sisters of Mercy, her cancer was treated. With the love and resources from the people she has spent her life ministering to, she is able to survive the treatment and aftercare. And with her inner faith and indomitable spirit she perseveres. "You don't know what tomorrow holds, but if you have a song that you can plant in your spirit, that you can sing out loud, you can make it through the toughest of times. Hallelujah and praise his name."
