On today’s show, we are discussing a very important topic: child hunger and poverty in Central Florida. As a result of the economic recession, Seminole County was one of the hardest hit areas. A 60-Minutes special inspired a movement called the Red Bag program, which provides food for hungry children and their families. On this special edition of The Good Life, we are joined by: Dede Schaffner, the Vice Chairman of the Seminole County School Board; Beth Davalos, a liason for the Families in Transition program at Seminole County Schools; and Andy Searles, a pastor at Aloma United Methodist and the founder of the Red Bag program.
