I like the Silver, I like the Gold takes influence from the sometimes ambivalent attitude of an audience towards an artist's work during exhibition preview evenings. Green will present a showcase of new, previously unseen artworks in dramatic surroundings.
This performance was a showcase of new works by Susie Green, seven were displayed over 45 minutes.
Two models Alina Kropiwnicka and Rachael Gay displayed each work in sequence for 5 minutes at a time.
Donations to the artist were invited and the audience asked to add any to the circle marking the stage area which was comprised of fruit, nuts and healthy snacks.
Throughout each of the seven artwork modelling sessions the models brought an artwork to the circle, the lighting was raised, the artwork title and description announced by Susie Green. Music started and then the session began. Artworks were held and worn in a series of poses directed by the artist and photographed by the photographer Mat Flemming. After five minutes an alarm sounded marking the end of each session, artworks were placed in the perimeter of the circle, lights and music lowered and the cycle repeated with another artwork.
This is a video showing excerpts from the performance.
