Video installation/ 6:34/ 2011
I have been working on a video installation series titled "MIRROR" from 2007. In it, I apply paint to the surface of a mirror that, when mixed water, drips, wobbles, and fluid. In mirror, it outcomes beauty that paint have itself, and outcomes flow of emotion of me and viewers. What do you find out paint drips?
In these pieces, I present new possibilities of what a painting can be.
While process of a painter faces to his works and makes a painting, it momentary has strain, ecstasy, distress...
Between to wave of emotion never overdue, a paint is drawing. "MIRROR" reflects to "paint" is changing, and moreover it makes new "painting" extending beyond the confines of the canvas frame and time axis.
Jackson Pollock said:
"When I am in a painting, I'm not aware of what I'm doing. It is only after a sort of 'get acquainted' period that I see what I have been about. I have no fears about making changes, destroying the image, etc, because the painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through. It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess. Otherwise there is pure harmony, an easy give and take, and the painting comes out well."
