Everyday thousands of U.S. servicemen and women lay down their lives and risk everything to serve their country. These men and women are heroes. For those who have lost their lives due to the effects of war, they leave behind more than a legacy, they leave behind a family. The effects of losing a parent can be life-shattering for a young child.
You will help pick up the pieces of a devastating loss and bring healing to a grieving child. The mending process occurs at a camp where children of fallen soldiers receive coping skills, grief counseling, peer support and mentorship. As part of the restoration, these children will receive a mentor, currently an active service member, who will guide them through life and help fill the void of losing a parent and a role model. Join us in honoring the men and women who have risked their life for our county, and the children who bravely carry on.
