The AVL Commitment, the first AVL "Corporate Show". Produced in 1981 by Sorgel-Lee, Inc, for AVL (Audio Visual Laboratories, then the leader in computerized slide-sound "multi-image" computer control equipment. All previous shows done on behalf of AVL were demo shows, showing of the tricks and techniques that could be accomplished with banks of slide projectors and dissolvers controlled by AVL equipment. We suggested it was time for AVL to get serious, although we still had some fun and used creative multi-image techniques, including a programmed strobe flash, which of course is not scene here (it was only used once, during the opening title sequence). A few years later, the new pinstriped AVL would spin off Eagle Computers, using the same "Eagle II" personal computer AVL had developed as the mainstay product for multi-image control.
This is a multi-image slide show transferred "off the wall" using the video technology available in 1981. Therefore, this is no way can replicate the deep blacks, 4000 line resolution, and incredible soundtrack of the original. It is placed here for historical reference and because it's the best thing Ric and I ever did.
