Yet another fresh grave is being dug at the Dhaka’ Jurain graveyard to bury unidentified dead workers from the Rana Plaza collapse. Ironically, we were there with the relatives of Tazreen fire victim to pay our respect and voice the affected family’s demand for the punishment of the Tazreen factory’s owner and compensation. This was on 30 April 2013, just after five months of the factory fire. On 7 May 2013 a total of 36 worker’s family members finally received compensation from the government. Their bodies were identified by DNA testing. But another 24 dead workers still remain unidentified by this DNA testing process. Their getting compensation remains uncertain. Earlier 53 unidentified bodies of Tazreen factory fire were buried at this graveyard. Video courtesy: Imtiaz Pavel.
