This is the cycling route I rode for the 2009 Highlander Century held on Sept 12, a bike ride based in the stunning Finger Lakes region of New York. Its the premier 105 mile century of the event, featuring 11,000 feet of climbing in 18 separate climbs, 8 of which climb 1-2 miles with grades ranging between 9-23%. The daring riders who enroll in this pain fest visit five lakes and climb all the mountains separating them. It is a commendable athletic feat to finish such an event. I will return hopefully next year to finish her off in lesser time, 7 hours or less. [Why do I have a strong feeling that'll be a pipe dream? :-)]
