Ninety-three-year-old Artistic Director Edith O'Hara is waging the battle of her life to hold onto the theatre she founded 34 years ago on West 13th Street in Greenwich Village. She faces an unscrupulous real estate developer who wants to tear the building down and build condos in its place. During the making of this film, nearly 40 Indie theatres in New York were lost or destroyed. The film focuses on Ms. O’Hara’s theatre, the unique role of Indie theatre, and its importance both for New York, and American theatre as a whole.
