Frantic is the documentation of an experimental project. It is done by attaching a camcorder to helium balloons and allowing it to drift along to wherever the wind takes it.
Experiments, by nature, are actions carried out without being sure of the outcome. I don’t know how it is going to turn out, but in this case I was delighted by the visual and rhythmic outcome the frantic shudder the camera brought. As the balloon rises higher, it becomes frantically uncontrolled. It creates intense overlapping images of movements, patterns and textures.
I decided to see various familiar places of Singapore in an alternate perspective.
(in order of appearance in film) –Water Fountain & Traffic Crossing at Bugis, Tekka Market, Thaipusam, Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, Entrance of Parkway Parade.
I hope you will enjoy the frantic experience this film brings you.
