Col. (ret.) Chaplian Herman Keizer, Jr. - US Army (40 yrs.); veteran of Vietnam War; Purple Heart recipient; was Executive Director, Armed Forces Chaplains Board; United States European Command Chaplain; founding Co-Director of Soul Repair Center at TCU
In April 2013 we opened the doors of our church to US Military Veterans, their friends and families. We invited them to share their experience of war and the impact on their lives. These are first person accounts of struggles with post traumatic stress and the debilitating effects of moral injury. The stories are stunning, terrifying, moving and inspiring.
As you watch these and consider the human cost of war, think also of the role we can play in making a safe place for our Veterans – to recover and heal, and to live with joy and dignity – at home in the country they served.
