I wanted to do something different for my mom on Mother's day, besides just sending a card and a phone call. Right now we live over 3,000 miles away from each other, and I knew the best way to show her that I miss and appreciate her would be to spend the day together. Now, plane tickets are out of my price range, so I opted for a different approach, rather than just Skype or FaceTime. Why not spend the day showing her where I live and the places we would go if she were here in person. So, I did. It wasn't the same as being with her in person, but it was great hearing her reaction to the places I "took" her to see. Hopefully it sparks the desire for her to come and visit.
