The Charcoal Chess Tournament, hosted by the Minnesota Chess Club took place at Bethel University, St. Paul MN. All of the games took place on paper, as players would erase and draw pieces to play each game.
The tournament took almost 7 hours and Minnesota Chess Club president Tim Lee was the champion.
The tournament was facilitated by Lee Walton. All drawings and documentation of the tournament became part of his exhibition "Momentary Performances and Things That Last Longer" at Bethel University.
