Forty years after the release of Attica Blues, AUP 2012 Honorary Degree recipient Archie Shepp revisits this monument of jazz history with a new big band of 26, composed of a mix of experienced artists and young jazz musicians from the United States and France. This album highlights the importance of taking a stand for social injustices and transfers these values to a new generation of jazz musicians.
The goal is to record two concerts in southern France in June and release a historic live Attica Blues Band album on Archie Shepp's independent label - Archieball. Thus, giving Archie Shepp full artistic liberty and the ability to support young talent.

In order to raise the remaining funds necessary in the production of this album, we have put together a Kickstarter campaign through which you can participate, contribute and get a great deal of goodies in return!

By contributing, you are directly involved in the production of a CD by a jazz legend, supporting the creation of independent jazz and pre-ordering a physical or electronic copy of an exciting new album as well as many other great rewards!

Thank you all for your support - by contributing and sharing this with your friends, this album will become a reality!
