Well, I finally entered the realm of film like video (I refuse to call anything I do a 'film' unless I actually shoot on film.. pet peeve... but I digest.
I took a break and went up to Mount Charleston to test the Letus Ultimate with the Relay Lens for the Sony EX3 after dissecting the hell out of Phillip Bloom's site (who doesn't return emails like he says on one of his blogs, but that may have been before all his fame dome, ah celebrities...)
I brought my Nikon Mount Carl Zeiss 28mm f2 and 100mm f2 -ish? and my 80-200 Nikon zoom f2.8. I noticed things got a little hazy when shooting with my Nikon 80-200, I hope it's not old and damaged, I haven't used it in years.
I always CC so I used FCP7's 3 way CC and well I have to say I'm really quite happy to finally to get this kind of look. (I've been chasing the film look for video for, oh, about 10 years and yes yes yes, if you want the film look shoot film, I agree, but then there's the rest of us who don't have a rich Uncle in Hollywood - this is what I can afford for tests, nobody's sending me any free stuff to evaluate... ahem, Sony!)
I have a lot to practice on follow focusing 35mm lenses on the Letus but I know I'll get it eventually. I didn't even bother to hook up the RR Micro FF system. I like it and all but it's a bit of a hassle moving those focus rings around and carrying my lenses with them on. Again, Zacuto stuff would be nice, but ramen noodles get old after a while...
