This animation contains some of my favorite things in motion design: a rainbow lens flare, animation timed to music, extreme color grading, voumetric lighting, and stripy patterns.
I wrote this song while rendering the rough draft of the animation. I decided they belonged together and adjusted the animation accordingly. The video is intended to be looped during a VJ set.
Working with loops definitely adds another level of difficulty to animating. All the random camera movements, the changing noise in the light, the specific rotation of the cube, and even the moving lens flare had to looped back on its self. Each required a different technique to loop. It's very frustrating but I generally feel inspired by the limitation of loops.
