Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival concludes on May 31, 2013 with "Patent Pending," a unique CONTACT festival event produced by Toronto's Spectrum Music, and featuring Canadian born, Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary artist Karen Ostrom.
“Patent Pending” will take place in 918 Bathurst Centre's Great Hall; guests will have an opportunity to mingle, drink, and experience three showings at 8:00pm, 9:30pm, and 11:00pm.
The result of a yearlong collaboration between Ostrom and Toronto composer Shannon Graham, “Patent Pending” presents a unique collaboration of original live music and multiple projections, and will be presented at the 918 Bathurst Art Centre.
Tapping into the dark and quirky mind of artist Karen Ostrom and her fictional fishing village, composers Shannon Graham, Ben Dietschi, and Caitlin Smith create otherwordly sound narratives to inspire speculation, suspicion, and anticipation through musicians playing a toy pianos, trumpet, violin and bass in a live, one-night-only performance.
