For the seventh straight year the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Abiquiu Lake will be hosting & seeking volunteers for the National Public Lands Day celebration Saturday, September 26th. Activities will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Cerrito Boat Ramp parking lot and end for lunch at noon. Volunteers will be assisting lake staff with shoreline cleanup, river cleanup, trail work & landscaping. Volunteers will get to enjoy both day-use facilities & camping at no cost. There will also be live music, an environmental education fair, & a free lunch for volunteers. As a volunteer you’ll get to enjoy recreating in the very great outdoors that belongs to you by camping, hunting, fishing, biking, hiking, bird watching, sight-seeing, etcetera. National Public Lands Day is a special day and opportunity for the public to give back to their precious public lands and improve them for future use. The Cerrito Boat Ramp at Abiquiu Lake is located at the east side of the dam, two miles west of the Hwy 84 & Hwy 96 junction.
