Padraic Quirk, the Director of Atlantic Philanthropies in Northern Ireland, speaks about Atlantic Philanthropies, who have been grant-making in Northern Ireland since the late 1990s. A considerable part of their grant making focuses on building a strong evidence base around the areas they care about; better outcomes for children and young people, older people, peace and reconciliation and human rights. They help support evidence by enabling nongovernmental organisations to produce high quality evidence, use evidence in their work and ensure that their work becomes outcome based. Padraic shares some of the insights that they have learned from evidence from their early intervention programmes to help improve outcomes for children.
