We are changing the dynamics of 3D Mapping shows by developing a system that enables to run an ever-changing 3D mapping, generated in real time using a 3D game engine. Plus, it generates relevant data for clients while integrating social networks.
The system is made out of two components:
a) 3D mapping stage with a physical car in an exhibition area
b) Game cabin with a racing seat, Multi Touch screen and a wheel/pedals set.
A 3D projection mapping demo mode appears on the actual DS3, running in a cinematic loop, while users are prompted to play in the gaming cabin.
Players are logged in through their Facebook connection and get to configure the car according to their preferences: color, type of alloy wheels, soundtrack, etc, and gets projected on the actual car too.
The system records preferences and reports to Citroën, helping them to better understand their market.
Once the car has been customized according to the user preferences, the game starts. Users can drive the car through different circuits and whatever happens on the screen while playing also affects the car’s 3D mapping projection.
In addition, the system automatically sends an email to the players with a link to their car configuration and race time to share on Facebook and they are invited to a test-driving event.
This installation also has an Instagram interaction. Users can send tagged pictures to the game and these pictures will be displayed on 3D mapping projection as car collides with the Instagram Icons floating on the racecourse.
