This was a project in Creative Strategies at Art Center College of Design. Our instructor, Frido, gave us a cheap battery powered geared clock mechanism to build a clock with. We were not allowed to use the original hands and face of the clock.
I used this idea of the obsolete geared clock, and decided to use another obsolete piece of technology that uses gears: A tape recorder. I recorded myself reading the exact time (hour/minute/second) for two straight hours. The idea is that you press play at the start of the hour and it will be in correct time.
