KUNST-STOFF Dance Company, as part of their 15th Anniversary celebratory season, presents Rapport.
Rapport, a new work by Yannis Adoniou that merges text and movement, exposes six artists as they dive beyond their performative lives.
Rapport premiered at the historic Old Mint Building in San Francisco, where each room became the frame for the dialogue of each artist’s individual rapport.
Rapport manifests from a process in which the Contributing Artists of KUNST-STOFF have delved into the experiences, events, and tendencies that have shaped who they are today. In manifesting their personal histories through a diverse range of text, situations, music, and installations, they hope to realize and reveal the commonalities we all share and the ways in which we relate to each other.
In exposing and uncovering the individual, Rapport questions who we are beyond our performative mask and asks what becomes possible when we truly allow ourselves to be unconcerned with exterior expectations of creation or success. In a rigid society of do’s and don’ts, what happens when exterior expectations are taken away from the general picture?
Exploring duration and repetition, Rapport loops continuously three times allowing small groups to be guided through the performance every 40 minutes.
