All of Manchester is abuzz with the news that a famous jewelry shop has been robbed - rings, bracelets and precious coins have all vanished. The rumour is that a man and a woman are responsible, and a detective lady is sent in hot pursuit. She thought she saw them going into an exhibition at The People's History Museum, but that seems a bit unlikely. Still, in among the exhibits, the photos, the boards, the drums, the tables and display cases, the guilty pair are lurking. How can they escape without giving themselves away, or, worse, losing the loot?
This video by members of the 'One Day Film Club' is one in a series that aims to use a real location, with something actually happening in the background and real people as 'extras', while a small drama is played out in the foreground. In this case, it was a Saturday afternoon in September 2011 while Lawrence Cassidy's latest exhibition, 'The A-Z of Lost Salford Streets', was on show, complete with photos, street signs, memories and audio recordings to listen to on headphones, (which becomes a vital part of the plot!)
Actors taking part can be seen in other short drama films from Salford LIDS such as 'Clinic', which is also here on Vimeo.
